Mountain View - As a non-partisan and diverse organization of local public officials, the Women’s Caucus advocates for issues that improve the well-being of women and our constituents throughout the State of California. Though the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade does not affect abortion rights in California, the Women’s Caucus remains committed to advancing women’s equality and supporting our members in light of this decision.

This year, the Women’s Caucus celebrated the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote by working even harder to deliver additional programs for our members and empowering more women to pursue leadership roles across all government levels and corporate boards.
We’re proud to have provided numerous resources and leadership development sessions for our members to connect amid the coronavirus pandemic, ranging from how to get on state boards, branding, effective campaigning and more. June 19, 2020 - The League of CA Cities Women's Caucus Commemorates Juneteenth
The League of California Cities Women’s Caucus releases a statement to commemorate Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the liberation of African Americans as slaves in the United States.
“Although Juneteenth marked a turning point in history, we recognize that more work still needs to be done to ensure all Americans can enjoy rights and freedom equally,” said Nancy Smith, President of LOCC Women’s Caucus, and Vice Mayor of Sunnyvale. “We stand in solidarity with communities of color who are calling for racial justice and greater equality for Black lives. We are deeply heartbroken and outraged by the senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and countless others. We are all in this together and we will work to ensure that all Californians and all Americans are treated with dignity, respect, and equality.” |
